DESCRIPTION:A Rocha’s Global Conservation Fund for A Rocha work around the world has now concluded a first round of 12-month projects including reconciliation work between forest edge communities and forest management officials in Uganda\, the establishment of a marine programme in India and the introduction of new sustainable livelihoods in Peru such as Guinea pig raising and artisanal craft production. \nThe second round of grants is designed for piloting new projects and approaches and generating evidence of their effectiveness. For example\, A Rocha UK will trial ‘tiny forests’ method of restoration in an experimental design. A Rocha Kenya will assess 24 years of their Assets programme\, conservation-via-scholarships.
